GM Monthly Blog June 2025

That’s another month crossed off the calendar. At this rate it will soon be Christmas!
Spring brought us some fantastic weather and according to provisional Met Office statistics it was the warmest and sunniest on UK record.
So what’s been happening…..
Finance
• Members’ subscription payments deadline passed (31st May) with only a handful of members needing reminding.
Health and Safety
• Barbecue season is upon us. Now don’t get me wrong I enjoy a sausage as much as the next man, but lets make sure we cook up a feast safely. As you know, disposable barbeques are banned on the site as are fire pits and the like. It may be worth reminding your guests of this too and please can you ensure that the Site Rules are displayed in your property.
• We did have a couple of near misses with a barbecue found to be being used placed on the grass – no legs, and a fire pit with 3ft high flames burning away, with no real consideration by the ‘party goers’ of the risk that this causes. Needless to say, we had a chat with them.
Roads and Maintenance
• Ongoing routine site maintenance continues as mentioned in Simon’s blog. Yep, you heard right, we have a new contributor to blogs on the website, Simon, your Grounds Manager. If you have yet to check it out why not take a look. It is Simon’s intention to put pen to paper (Actually, he types it into a PC, but not let’s not split hairs) each quarter in line with the changing seasons.
Waste Management
As the guests increase, so does the volume of waste. We are ready and have put in place solutions to deal with this
Planning (Properties)
Applications are starting to trickle in and so far we have had a couple of re-builds to consider. When the time is right these will be shared with all members on the planning pages of the website
Site in General
• Following the recent meter change exercise that South West Water carried out, if you want the postcard that notes the old meter number and reading and the same for the new, please do not hesitate to get in touch. If we have one for your property, we will be happy to scan it in and email it across to you for your records.
And Finally …

What more do you need? Tranquility. (And maybe a glass or two of your favourite tipple!)
Quote of the month !
“Take the time to enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.” - Robert Brault
What to expect this Month........
• Business as usual really, just getting on with the job!
• I am on holiday towards the end of the month. Possibly considering going to Ourgate
again. Weather dependent.
• I will leave you in the safe hands of Nicki and Simon. My right-hand lady and left-hand man
The door is always open ....... Apart from weekends and bank holidays - but you get the gist!
Regards
Rob
