GM Monthly Blog May 2025

Well, I don’t know about you, but for me April seemed to come and go in a flash. Time flies when you’re having fun. We had a few cracking days of gorgeous weather. Hope you all had an opportunity to enjoy the Easter break.
This blog, although timely this month, I appreciate it maybe a bit sparse compared to last month, but I suppose no news is good news as they say. Who ‘they’ are, I’m not sure, but I will go with it.
So what’s been happening…..
Finance
Members subscription payments are rolling in and to date 57% of the members have paid. Thankyou. The outstanding invoices are due by the 31st of this month.
Health and Safety
Two sets of speed ramps have now been installed near G21 Playground to improve safety on-site.
Further to the removal of the playground fencing last month, we have received some very positive feedback from members stating they prefer the natural look. I am glad to also report that we have had no complaints from guests (Parents and their Kids – the true Guinea Pigs) on site, which is also good news. We have tidied up a few of the playgrounds surrounding areas to make it more appealing and safer still
The broken finger is doing well. Thanks for asking!!
Roads and Maintenance
Simon met with DA Giles with a view to getting a quote from them for the next round of repairs. Being frugal, Simon stated that he would have all the waste product from these repairs for us to use around the site as necessary when we are carrying out temporary road maintenance tasks. This should keep the quote costs down also.
Waste Management
We continued our discussions with Cornwall Council planning enforcement and EA with regards to compliance. We will keep you updated accordingly.
Planning
Nothing to report.
Site in General
There was a power outage on site during the Easter break and I hope this didn’t cause you or your guests too many problems. National Grid dealt with the fault promptly and had all properties back up and running around lunchtime on the Saturday , via a generator, and fixed the source of the problem early the following week.
With this in mind, we are looking into improved communication solutions to inform members in the event of future issues of this nature in ‘real time’.
And Finally …
We hope you enjoyed the second long bank holiday weekend. It won’t be long until the next one! As ever, please keep in touch if you have any concerns and equally it’s also nice to hear what you enjoy about the site
Quote of the month !
"Life is like a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." - Albert Einstein
What to expect this Month........
We have been in talks with an Enforcement Officer from Cornwall Council Planning regarding the updating of the bin enclosures on site, and we hope to share their response to all members soon.
Just a reminder that all external property maintenance works this season must be completed by 7 days before the Whitsun bank holiday. The date being Monday 19th May. Thanks in advance for your co-operation in this matter
More glorious weather? We can live in hope.
The door is always open ....... Apart from weekends and bank holidays - but you get the gist!
Regards
Rob
