I am pleased to be writing this update to you from the blog section on our new website. Please check out the new features on the website when you get time. We welcome your thoughts on any other features you would like.
As this season is coming to an end, I thought it was an ideal opportunity to update you on some upcoming developments.
Firstly, I thought it would be helpful to update you on site security for this year
You will be aware from previous updates that we are in the unfortunate position of not being able to lock the gates during the closed season and many of you were quite rightly very concerned about this. Although the company is not obliged to provide security for the site the board does think it makes sense to implement any deterrents that we can. The board has therefore approved a number of new security measures for this year which includes the increase of CCTV across the site. As you will appreciate it makes sense not to share all measures we are taking as anyone targeting the site could potentially use this information to avoid being caught. But please rest assured we do have some new and effective measures in place for this year.
This season has seen the Cornwall Council implementation of new waste services for Council Tax private use chalets and they have been actively checking that all rented properties have a compliant commercial waste contract in place. Anyone who pays for the company run scheme we have confirmed to Cornwall Council that you have a compliant waste contract in place and therefore you will not have been subjected to further checks. I am pleased to say that the centralised facility is still working well and during the closed season we will be enhancing these facilities to make it easier for guests to use and encourage further recycling.
During the closed season we will be carrying out the first phase of road resurfacing work, further phases of this will continue over the next few years through the funding scheme we now have in place that was approved at the last AGM. The Common Land approach also approved at the AGM is progressing to plan, we have joined up with the administrators of North Quay as they are objecting to the application on their land which will impact their development. I will be able to update you further on this at the next AGM where we should be able to present you with the next steps. Also the new Articles of Association have been reviewed by a new independent solicitor to ensure that they are fit for purpose and as explained during the last AGM they will be circulated well in advance of the next AGM where they will be put forward for formal approval. Can I please ask that you take the time to review and vote for these new Articles of Association as they will be a Special Resolution and require 75% of the vote to be formally adopted. Over a number of years the company has spent considerable time and money on these and it would be disappointing to not get these finally over the line.
Best regards
Martin
